what other hsr ships do you like, if any?
quite a few!
(disclaimer pls dont get mad at me for any ships i mention, and note that they never affect what i draw for Avenday 😭)
I have a ScrewTio wip coming up and ive drawn them before :3 literally so interesting. just as much foils as Avenday i would say
other than that in terms of OTP: AcheSwan, BronSeele, Jingliu x Bai Heng, whatever the hell Feixiao x Jiaoqiu x Moze polycule have going on
do NOT separate the girlfriends or i'll start tweaking..(lighthearted)
as mentioned in prev tags i love both RobiFly and StelleFly! CaeFly is... ok i guess but only if i put them in my elaborate headcanons and even then it works just as well with Stelle. I plan to draw RobiFly soon they are soooooo cute to me :3
theres more but i'll mention in tags!

CRAIG KELLUM: “There was a momentum from the beginning, but what was interesting was that, even though I don't remember the ratings being unbelievable after the first couple of shows, Lorne — ever the decider of what was what — decided the show was a hit right from the beginning and acted out of that belief, and it was infectious. I remember what he said. He said, quote, "I guess we're a hit." I thought, "Where's that coming from?" But it was vintage Lorne Michaels. He believed it was a hit. He felt good about it. It got on the air. He looked on the bright side of the numbers and the bright side of the reviews. He certainly got good feedback from friends and family. And that was it. It was a hit show. It's wonderful, the strength of his belief in how he sees things in this world.”

"...That was reckless."
(woah, an actual fan fic! Well, TW for talk of injury, infected zombie type stuff, apocalypse, and bites!)
Lust's raspy breathes were quiet, as him and Blue had hands intertwined. Behind his muzzle was a smile, and on Swap's face was a frown as he worked
"Maybe after all this is over... you'll take me on that date?" Lust asked weakly, as the skeleton in Blue used his free hand cleaned the newly aquired bite on his neck.
". . ." He remaind in silence, keeping a firm hold onto the other.
Lust looked sadly at him, making a whimper as Blur pressed a particularly sore spot.
"...That was reckless." He finally said, putting away the cloth in exchange of some gauze.
"Hm? Oh... Blue‐" Lust tried to get put.
"D-Don't 'Oh Blue' me, mister! You and I both know that was reckless, you have to be more careful next time!" He scolded with anger in his voice, being more forceful than necessary to cut the gauze.
"I did it for Dream... Hun, I'm already infected, there's... There was no real danger."
Swap huffed, "Bullshit! T-The magnificent Sans saw how deep these marks are, and... and what if you hadn't have been infected!?"
Lust gave him a soft, but surprised expression. Before morphing into a small grin. "...I suppose I wouldn't have been wearing a muzzle, huh?"
"...That's—That was a t-terrible time... f-for joking..." He started to sniffle.
"Ah, I didn't mean to upset you!" Lust quickly tried to sit up, going to comfort him.
"Don't do that again!" He said suddenly, dropping hid supplies and diving in for a hug, despite that being forbidden.
"I-..." Lust paused, so Blue filled the silence.
"You matter to us, your actions were brave, b-but we both know you could've just pulled him back... or used your spear for him to bite—O-Or maybe you couldn't, and this was the only way... I still wish you took your safety more seriously..." He said softly, resting Lust's chin in his shoulders.
The one in purple, hesitated, but slowly wrapped his own arms around Blue. "I'm sorry I scared you, sweetie..."
"....I'm sorry I yelled, you don't need that right now." He replied, slowly pulling back.
"But, we can't replace you, okay? Just like we could never replace Sci, or Dream, or Ink."
The comparison to, well, uninfected, made Lust's metaphorical heart beat just a bit faster.
"Okay."
"Okay?" Blue asked, just to be sure. Lust nodded, and he smiled. Putting his arms on hid back, the skeleton in Blue gently helped Lust lay down again.
"Could you possibly stomach something to eat?" Blue asked as he tucked Lust in.
"...Do you still have any of that chocolate from... that AU?..."
Blue hummed in an affirmative manner. "From Outertale? We do. Would you like some?" Getting a nod from Lust, Blue grinned and got up.
"I'll be back soon, get comfortable!"
As he walked out of the medicinal bay, Lust was thinking two things.
One, they hadn't locked him i in quarantine yet.
And two... that's the first time he's heard 'The magnificent Sans' in awhile... made things feel just a bit more normal.

A thought, regarding Cujo: I think Donna's apparent symptoms of rabies at the end were psychosomatic.
Cujo's rapid infection is just barely within the bounds of plausible, but Donna's next-day symptoms and later recovery aren't. She also doesn't actually display normal human symptoms of rabies, in particular biting the paramedic: the urge to bite things doesn't really show up in rabid humans. If rabies causes aggression in humans at all, they display it via the usual human means of expressing aggression, such as using fists or their voice.
She does, however, display stereotypical canine symptoms of rabies. Donna doesn't really know how rabies works, medically, but she has a common knowledge understanding of it combined with the hellish example Cujo set. After the horrific experience she just went through, she loses it from stress and trauma and temporarily embodies what her subconscious thinks is happening. For a little while there, she believed her rage was coming from a rabies infection, and her mind made it real.
The paramedic she bit went through the rabies treatment course because you do not fuck around with rabies and he did get bitten by someone who might have been rabid, but the treatment Donna got was in fact the normal rabies immune globulin and vaccination course, along with treating her wounds.

Ok, it is time I actually get to this, so uh um here's the first book review for "The Bunny Burrow Archives"!!!! Mlem mlem mlem mlem mlem.
I will warn it's been a bit since I've done a book review, so if you have any critiques like ever over how I do my book reviews, please do not hesitate. I can take criticism. Unless like said criticism is like "fuck you that made no sense and it's just bad"
Anyway, here is the cover of the book that I very much enjoyed!

Please note that I am going to be using the words science and medicine interchangeably because I am unsure which is the more appropriate term.
Personally, Dr. John S. Tregoning, in my opinion, has written one of the best books over medicine and pathogens I've ever read. Mostly because it is the first book I've ever read over those topics, unless you count science textbooks from like school, but meh. Honestly, the material taught in this book is worth so much more than my schooling ever gave me. Not only because Tregoning had incredibly crystal clear explanations for stuff I have next to no understanding for. But also how well it structured and laid out.
Before getting into the main topic of the book "Pathogens and How We Fight Them," Tregoning ensures the reader has enough of an understanding of the topics before getting into them. Thankfully, he has a sense of humor and doesn't write it out to sound like some boring math lesson or a book review >_< He goes over so much that I am surprised he is able to fit it all in 340 pages. Given how much information there was, I honestly should read it a second time to ensure I have a clear understanding of everything buuuut meh.
Infectious mentions all forms of pathogens, including viruses, bacteria, fungie, and parasites. Whilst giving the science lesson of a life (better than like crash course science on YouTube), he also gives a detailed history of how far medicine and science have come. Including mentioning the stupidity of some doctors from the dark ages. I feel it's kinda of a more well-known fun fact that doctors used to not wash their hands cause they couldn't explain why it helped, so they didn't bother with such a basic task. But did you know that apparently some doctors used to wear blood stains on their aprons kinda of like a show of pride, thinking that having a bunch of blood splashes on it meant you were a good doctor. Honestly, hearing that was like wtf how could they think something so barbaric, but then again, this was before many of the advancements in the field of medicine, and also in the dark ages of medicine.
I will say I do really like chapter 14 because it offers a doctors very detailed explanation as to why anti vaxxers exist. Like 20 pages worth of an explanation better than any 3 page article on some news or whatever site. And I especially appreciated the new insult for people who can't wear a mask properly <i>Maskentrottel</i> or, in other words, a mask idiot in German.
Since this book was being written during covid, it does mention it a fair bit. Along with an explanation to the question, "How did covid get a vaccine so fast when it took longer for every other vaccine in history?" (Imagine me saying this in a mimimimi voice). Other than the obvious of hello, the whole world was working on it in a collective effort, and the fact that science and medicine constantly get more advanced. It also mentions the breakthrough that lead to a vaccine.
I honestly don't know how to structure this review mainly because there is so much to talk about. Whether it be mentioning how poop influences our microbiomes at birth which goes to determine how our immune systems are formed all the way. Up to how to know whether or not a scientific study or science paper is trustworthy. There was so much.
I will say I kinda wished I would've seen a mention of the unreliability for the studies done during the AIDs scare/pandemic saying ONLY gay men get it. Mainly because straight people wouldn't bother with STD testing or anything of the sort at the time in fear of being called gay, and maybe also due to them having a less care about sexual health at the time. But then again, he did do an amazing job covering it, and that's kinda just me being picky about that. Please do not mistake me for being like mad or disappointed it wasn't mentioned I'm just using this as a way to say, "Did you know?"
The biggest critique I have is that with the amount of information within this book, I felt it to be a little cramped and sometimes hard to keep up with everything. Maybe it would've been best to have it like a two part book or just make it bigger, cause I like my books thick anyway. But regardless, I still very much enjoy this and highly recommend it because it's a great read.

yesterday, i went to a bookstore and i picked up two books i’d been meaning to buy, but needed help finding a novel I hadn’t spotted on the shelves. There were three youths at the front desk and, while one of them looked for a book for me, the other told me: ‘i’m not trying to be nosy or anything, but i love the books you’ve picked so far! are you into horror?’ and i laughed and said yes and she told me about how she just finished a college class on gothic literature and she’s obsessed. and i was like that’s rad, i love gothic literature!!
and then she was like: have you read dracula? and i said yes. and then she was like: but have you read carmilla?? and i fibbed a little, because she was just so excited to share something new with me, you could see it plain on her face, and i said i had years and years ago (i re-read it a year ago lol) and that i could hardly remember anything about the book (oopsie lol)  -- which was the right answer actually because this person just lit up like a light! and she started telling me about what she learned about carmilla in her class and, after a bit, she asked me she could recommend three more books for me
and i said of course!! please do! and she brought two books I already read -- one of them, in fact, that i had read before it was published, bc of my work in the new york public library. but she was so excited and so young and she so clearly wanted to give me something new to read!! it reminded me of my early days in the library: how young i was then, how eager I was to share books i loved with strangers, how useful i felt when i gave a recommendation that landed. i didn’t tell her i’d read it. Instead, i read the back of the book, knowing she was watching me, and said: “this is right up my alley, thank you so much for recommending this to me! i appreciate you so much!”
anyways, i ended up buying seven books that day, including the two which I already read before -- but man, i’m so happy i did and i’m so happy i could be part of a person’s joy and be there to listen to someone tell me all the cool things they learned about the books i love!!

Iezekiel, a Plague druid and hunter of the Shade. Further lore for her can be found beneath the cut!
Tumblr media
The Stygian Coalition, despite their reputation as "Shade hunters," never aims to fell the monstrous or corrupted until all other options have been exhausted. Their Plague druids' acute command of the flesh has been used to methodically rend Shade from body, while their Light clerics' extensive knowledge of the soul has been used to wholly cleanse Shade from mind. But no method is proven completely effective, and every new case may present a condition too advanced or situation too strange to salvage what was once warped, now long departed.
Iezekiel is among the Coalition's number of genuine hunters, though her speciality in viruses and microorganisms has always defined her role far more than any status as "willing executioner" could. Ask her how such a mild-mannered and studious Tundra came to wield a blade, shotgun, and enchanted gauntlet with such controlled effeciency, and she'd assure you that any member of the Plague clergy must be as well-versed in combat as they are prayer. Ask her why she's no longer a member of that clergy, and she's suddenly far less open to discussion.
Her outward sentimentality, then, is reserved largely for those inevitable ends. After all, she can be trusted to act alone; her judgment is sound, her blows are measured, and her opponents fight honorably and viciously in the hollow halls of whatever bit of ruinous construction they take shelter from the harsh Wasteland sun in.
The miserable, lumbering forms Iezekiel smites in the Plaguebringer's name are the life which proliferates in death, not so far from those revered, diminuitive forms she devotes her studies and magic to. There is a serene stillness in death; a stillness which the Rot-Mother's children riot and raze so vibrantly to combat. The squirming and pestilent things which invade death's stillness are exalted, beautiful, thrilling.
And yet, in the sprawling, hallowed carcasses of forsaken structures, long devoid of such fiercely devout and intoxicating life, Iezekiel must contend with a stillness of her own making.

one of the best running gags in human history occurred between the astronauts if Apollo 10 and Duke mccandless in Houston about an unemployed local philosopher who doesn't believe in color TV and it's just not as funny if you don't also get the arguments about how they couldn't get bubbles out of their water and such. and also the way they called each other babe 24/7. John babe you are a weird looking machine
